Our Vision

Bam & Tata’s Day Nursery will thrive to provide excellent care for all children, offering a safe and secure environment where they can develop to reach their full potential though the love of learning. We offer a home from home environment where all children feel welcome and nurtured. Our dedicated highly qualified staff team will ensure that all children have the support they need to explore a fun, safe and stimulating learning environment.

At Bam & Tata’s our intent is to provide all children with the opportunities to participate in both Adult led and Child led activities, to build on knowledge already known and develop new knowledge to prepare them for the next stage. To embed the knowledge, understanding and skills, they need to succeed and provide new challenging and exciting opportunities to develop curiosity, build on imagination and experience awe and wonder. To gain new knowledge about children’s different cultures in order to support and learn about these further. Children will build the foundation to be confident in making friendships, using vocabulary, develop both Fine and Gross motor skills and be given the opportunity to make their own choices to support their understanding of British values. Our aim is to not make them only school ready but to make them life ready.

Early Years Foundations Stage (EYFS)

The early years foundation stage (EYFS) is a curriculum for children age 0-5 years.
All OFSTED registered early years providers must adhere to the EYFS framework which has four principles or themes:
• a unique child,
• positive relationships,
• enabling environments, and
• learning and development.
At  Bam and Tata’s Day Nursery, our children will learn through the love of play with the structure and nurturing of our staff.

ii. Helping your child Develop

To help ensure the development of each child, there are three formal assessments that take place during the EYFS:
• Two-Year Progress Check (between the ages of 24 to 36 months)
• Reception Baseline Assessment (at the start of the reception year)
• Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (at the end of the EYFS)

At Bam and Tata’s Day Nursery, our children experiences will be happy, active, exciting, fun and secure and we will support their development, care, and learning needs.
We will work closely with all parents and carers, asking for regular contributions to their child learning from home so we can all work together to meet their individual needs and interests.
Our environment will help children become independent and confident and we will provide an inquisitive environment for them to explore and play.
We will integrate the characteristics of effective learning throughout our environment. These are:

  •  Playing and exploring

  • Active learning

  •  Creating and thinking critically

Each child will be allocated a key worker who will be responsible for their assessment and learning. We will share this through termly reports, observations, and next steps.

iii Values

Fundamental British values have been embedded in EYFS since 2014.
These are:
ï‚· Democracy – everyone is treated equally and has equal rights.
ï‚· Rule of law – understanding that rules and boundaries matter
ï‚· Individual liberty – focusing on children self confidence, self awareness, people and communities
ï‚· Mutual respect and tolerance – learning to treat others how we want to be treated, managing our feelings and behaviour

and forming relationships with others.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

At Bam and Tata’s, we believe that every child is an individual with the potential to develop and
meet their maximum potential. The designated SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) has a passion for promoting equal opportunities for every child and is responsible for making sure all children enjoy a positive learning experience with us and receive the support they need.
At the heart of any decision-making is a child’s parents/carers. We appreciate and value the involvement of parents/carers and believe their insight should be used to inform any decisions made throughout a child’s time in our setting. We want all children to thrive at Bam and Tata’s and for families to feel supported. SENCO works closely with parents and colleagues to support and advise them to identify and meet the specific needs of children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). They will also liaise with outside agencies and other professionals to ensure that everyone is coordinated in how they support a child’s individual needs.
